There are plenty of good reasons to try a detox diet. Perhaps you are feeling a bit sluggish lately. How's your digestion? Do you feel like you are constantly full of undigested food? Do you think you need to lose a little bit of weight? It's pretty likely that you have taken in way too many preservatives and food additives, and you could probably use some "cleansing" of your system. If your body is feeling like there has been some abuse, you are ready for a good detox program.
Detox or detoxification refers to the process of eliminating toxins from your system. There are many different types of detox plans, from increased exercise to colonic irrigation to body scrubs to yoga and meditation, and on and on. Detox diets are one of the simplest ways to cleanse your body, though.
A good detox diet is one that minimizes the chemicals in your body, and helps you excrete them effectively. Foods that are rich in vitamins and antioxidants are increased, he lping you get healthier faster. Your intake of fresh fruits and vegetables, whole grains, nuts, organic foods, and water will increase. Your ingestion of fats, caffeine, alcohol, yeast, and sugar will decrease.
If you typically enjoy fast foods, then you have definitely put some toxins into your body lately. The fats and fat-soluble chemicals that are contained in the French fries, cheeseburgers, and soft drinks can quickly overload your system, making you drag. Nutritional deficiencies, inefficient metabolism, fatigue, skin problems, straggly hair, headaches, and so many other problems will result.
When people go on a detox diet, they typically report that they have more energy, more bowel regularity, improved metabolism, less indigestion, and better concentration and focus on mental tasks. Detox diets typically mean better overall well being in every way.
Detox plans should be considered carefully; pregnant women or nursing mothers ar e generally discouraged from any kind of special diets that could alter their necessary nutrients for the baby. Those with anemia, eating disorders, heart disease, limited immunity, low blood pressure, ulcers, cancer, or other major health issues should consult a doctor and/or a nutritionist before beginning any detox diet.
When you begin a detox diet, you may initially experience some side effects, such as headache, diarrhea, or general weakness. These side effects are due to your body's adjustment as you change the fuel you are providing. It is recommended that you begin a detox diet gradually, or even over a weekend when you may have more time to relax and avoid the rigors of daily life and work responsibilities. Be sure to drink plenty of water to help your body eliminate the toxins. You may need to avoid heavy physical activity for a few days.
Detox diets are not meant to be used as long term plans. Generally, it is recommended that you do a bo dy detox program once or twice a year, ideally during the warmer months when your body has more energy overall.
Get ready to improve your health through a body detox diet. You'll have more energy, more mental focus, and feel rejuvenated if you do.

Detox Dieting - How to Detox For a Cleaner and Healthier You
There are several different detoxing methods. Choosing one over another will depend on you, the type of diet you can handle and what you can actually commit to for the success of staying fit.
-There is the raw food diet plan where you eat only uncooked food; -The diuretic diet, which uses natural diuretics to relieve fluid retention; -The fast trucks detox diet, which is an 11-day detox diet, -The liver cleansing diet to help those with poor liver function; and so on. -The lemonade diet or master cleanse which allows you to drink a special drink for up to 10 days. -There are also some new experts in the field that made new forms of detox dieting to suit almost everyone's preferences.
Those who are in the process of choosing a detox diet plan, should be eating very clean prior to doing a detox diet. During a detox, in order to properly cleanse your body, depending on the detox you chose, you will have to eat fresh or frozen fruits, vegetables, brown-rice, beans, nuts and seeds but not butters or peanuts and peanut butter, extra-virgin oil and may drink herbal or green tea, pure unsweetened fruit and vegetable juice, rice milk, lemon water and of course water. The type of food and drinks that you consume during a detox, will all depend on the type of detox plan you select for yourself. Water will definitely be part of your detox dieting since you have to drink a minimum of 8 glasses per day.
Before you start, it is better not to have any social plans or events for a while. You will need to totally concentrate on your diet plans since the process may also give you some side effects. Some side effects may be that you to feel a little lethargic, or have nausea some times and you may feel a small amount of mental irritability. You have to expect some discomfort because a detox is riding your body of toxins. These side effects just mean that the detox is working. Just make sure you listen to your body because discomfort should not include pain and should not persist for a long period of time. Those symptoms will eventually go away after some time. All you need is to take in a lot of relaxation and sleep to help you with your detox dieting. After having sacrificed for the duration of the cleanse, you will feel more energetic, have more power and alertness to do your day-to-day routine.
It is also necessary to consult your naturopath before deciding to use any of the techniques mentioned. They can provide you with good advice if you need some. Although, it is still a known good fact that natural ways of dieting are better than those artificial methods. That is where detox dieting comes into place.

Do You Know the Best Way to Detox?
What I found is that there seems to be a new one popping up every day with people who claim that it works for them. They can have simple names or fancy names with cleansing or flushing in the title. Many people are starting to get interested in them with more and more reports about how obese everyone is becoming these days.
I found out that many if not all of these plans stress that you need to drink plenty of high quality filtered water each day to not get dehydrated. I asked myself what they mean by high quality water and was surprised to learn that many water systems across the country have numerous contaminants that are making it's way into homes.
Shortly after starting my research, I got a letter from my local water company that said there were elevated levels of lead in our water. At this point, I decided that it was time to get something that could filter out the lead and many other contaminants that could be in my water supply.
The research did not take that long and I had a budget that I stuck to and bought the system for my family. I encourage anyone to do research and learn more about water and how it plays an important role in the health of the body.
If you are serious about learning more about this subject then go here and see what I decided to use for my home. I have not had any problems with my system so far and I know that I have some peace of mind knowing that I am helping protect my family against all those toxins that we keep reading about each day.

Information on Starting a Natural Body Detox
Well, I found out that there are success stories for many of the programs where people report that they have lost weight and claim that it works great. There are also people claiming the opposite. Figuring out if these actually work can be confusing.
I decided to learn more about how they work and learned a little something about the body along the way.
For starters, the body has a natural detox function that works through the liver, kidneys, and lower gastrointestinal (GI) tract. The liver cleans the body as it stops other toxins form entering the bloodstream. It turns the toxins into water soluble compounds that are flushed out by the kidneys. The lower GI has natural bacteria that detoxify food waste and prevents it from re-entering the body.
All of this is eliminated by the body in the form of sweat, urine, and feces.
There are problems with these diets because people do not read the directions and continue on a program past the recommended number of days. The problem with this is that you can cause dehydration, mineral imbalances, and possibly long term digestive problems in the lower GI.
It can even be addictive and lead to eating disorders.
Most of these systems have a requirement of drinking high quality water to keep the body flushing out toxins. Water is an important part of each of these diets and it is something you can change in your lifestyle at a very reasonable rate. If you are interested in learning more about how water can help you then check out my webpage for additional information on this subject today.

Do You Know Enough About Detox Products?
I know that I knew none of these answers when I started looking into doing a detox plan. I only knew that it was eat or drink something for a period of time and lose weight. Once you complete so many days you are done and can go back to your normal meals. I knew that I needed more information before I was going to pick one of these systems to try out.
I had read the articles on how we are exposed to toxins every day and that we need to detox our body to keep it healthy. What I did not know was that the liver and kidneys worked together to react with toxins and break them down into water soluble compounds and then to flush them out of the body.
Another thing I did not know was that water is a major part of all these programs. High quality water plays a big part because it has been treated or filtered to remove any contaminants. The water then keeps the body's natural detoxification working even though there is a very restrictive diet.
The diet parts of the programs are very restrictive and after awhile you gradually reintroduce food back into your meals. This makes sense because you don't want to put contaminants back into your body while trying to flush them out.
To summarize what you need to know is that there are toxins that we are exposed to every day. The body can naturally remove some toxins, and water plays a major role in all these systems. Specifically, high quality filtered water that has all the toxins and chemicals removed from it.
If you are determined to live a healthier life then I recommend that you start today by going here to learn more information about this subject.

Master Cleanse Detox Diet - Is the Master Cleanse Detox Diet For You?
Well, first of all, if you are significantly overweight or have health issues, then you absolutely need to consult with a physician before you undertake anything even approaching this extreme. In fact, it's never a bad idea to talk to your doctor before doing anything like this even if you don't have any particular health concerns.
Another thing you need to take into consideration is whether you have the strength of will to undertake the project. If you do choose to undergo the detox fast, know that it's not going to be easy. Results that intense obviously aren't going to come easy, or else they would be easily achievable by anyone with the inclination. Of course that's not the case.
Also, if you are going to decide to undertake this project, make sure you get the highest quality ingredients. You can't do this with Countrytime lemonade and regular old maple syrup like you'd put on pancakes.
Since these ingredients are going to be your sole source of sustenance, and the point of this is to detoxify your system, you need to limit what's going into your body to the very best quality to make the cleanse as effective for detox as possible.

The Detox Diet - 10 Tips For Healthy Shopping
1) Plan your meals in advance and make a list. This is likely to save you time and money and ensure you have all the ingredients to start on your chosen detox plan or you might not get started.
2) Do not shop when hungry, stressed or in a rush. If you shop when hungry you unless you are strong willed you might be tempted to buy something that is not on your list to keep you going. Have a healthy bar or handful of nuts handy if you think you will be sidetracked.
3) Buy the basic store cupboard items once a week and fresh fruit and vegetables at least twice a week. Fruit and vegetables loose nutrients the longer they are stored. Five portions of fruit a vegetables a day is the minimum to aim for.
4) Buy a good variety of vegetables and fruit and look for the freshest. Try to buy things that are in season and are locally sourced. Try things you don't normally eat, you might be pleasantly surprised.
5) Look for organic where possible. Buying staples like organic brown rice or other grains, carrots and potatoes as a minimum. Grains and carrots are notorious for sapping up toxins from the ground. Buy free range meat and fish from relatively unpolluted waters if you can't get organic.
6) Avoid the cake and cookie displays so you are not tempted.
7) Try some different grains (really seeds) such as millet, amaranth, quinoa and buckwheat. They are gluten free and not so taxing on the digestion. They release carbohydrates slowly helping to keep your blood sugar balanced. They supply fiber, B vitamins, magnesium, calcium, zinc, iron and selenium. Fiber rich diets can halve the risk of breast cancer.
8) Try some vegetarian meals based on beans and lentils in place of animal proteins.
Soak well in pure water overnight before cooking. Introduce them gradually if you are not used to them as they can cause digestive problems for some people.
9) Look out for healthy alternatives to cereal bars which are often high in sugar and hydrogenated fats. Look for wheat free bars with natural fruit juice sweeteners.
10) Avoid all ready meals and processed foods. Besides being stripped of many nutrients they often contain unhealthy fats, artificial sweeteners, petroleum derived preservatives, MSG and other additives which may be harmful to your health.

Detox: Does Detoxification Work?
Martin Wiseman, visiting professor of human nutrition at the University of Southampton says "The detox fad - or fads, as there are many methods - is an example of the capacity of people to believe in and pay for magic despite the lack of any sound evidence,"
A recent study by British researchers also concluded that detox diets do no more than the body's own natural system to get rid of toxins.
These statements are disputed rigorously by Natural Health Practitioners, Naturopaths, and Doctors who use detox programs in their successful treatments of people with chronic health problems.
After all detoxification is one of the the oldest and most effective healing methods know to man. Some of the greatest physicians in history including Hippocrates, Galen, Paracelsus prescribed it.
So let us look at the research that prompted headlines that claimed body detox did not work. Firstly, the researchers tested only 10 subjects after only 7 days on a specific detox plan. Now I ask you. Does this seem logical to you? Do you really think that all those toxins that we store in our bodies would be reduced after just 7 days.No of course not. The idea is just too ridiculous.
Secondly, the liver and kidney tests were very limited in what was measured and they were all normal to begin with so it was hardly surprising that there was no improvement after 7 days.
There are some specialized laboratories that test liver detoxification capabilities. These test can show problems with liver detoxification pathways long before any liver cell damage is shown on a standard liver function test.
Thirdly, aluminum levels in the blood were measured but no special measures were advised by the researchers to reduce this so it again was not surprising that the 7 day detox did not reduce the levels.
These stores of chemicals in fat layers as well as chemicals in the blood can be reduced but it takes a lot longer than 7 days to do it.
The researchers who made these claims are simply not reading the research. The success of the detox program provided for the New York rescue workers poisoned by toxic substances after the 9/11 disaster is but one example of many.
Another study has been reported in Alternative Therapies in Health and Medicine which stated that fat soluble toxins were reduced by an average of 50% after two months on a specific detox program. Without this detox program, the expected drop in these toxins over two months would be only a fraction of one percent.
Much other research has shown that by supporting the body with specific foods and nutrients that are know to support the liver detox routes that detoxification can be improved.
It does not happen overnight though and that is why if you are serious about improving your health you should stay on a good, toxin free, blanced diet and continue with periodic detox regimes.
Ayurevedic guru Nish Joshi maintains that when your diet is holistic and a balanced part of your life you don't obsess about it. You just feel well and full of energy.

Why You Need a Detox Program
If you read up on the subject and search the Internet, you will find that most detox programs begin with rather strict diets, which you must religiously follow if you want to fortify your kidneys, liver, lungs and blood circulation. Not only that, a detox program will help you live a longer life.
Taking Care of Your Liver
Yes, your liver is one of your primary assets in staying healthy. While our bodies do have built-in detox functions, a programmed detox plan once in a while is still necessary. Your liver is probably one of the most hardworking internal organ in your body, and you should do all you can to protect it.
If truth be told, your liver never really complains when you abuse your body. But, little do you know that it works day and night to cleanse your internal system by balancing your cholesterol levels, making bile for faster digestion, stores vitamins and filters out all the dirt we take in. That's why whenever you think of smoking or drinking alcohol, keep in mind that it is your liver that's going to suffer. And that you can only reward it for its work by undergoing a detox plan.
You will know when your liver has started giving up on you when you suddenly feel sluggish without reason, or if your skin begins to go dull and lifeless. Detox can fix that.
So How Do I Begin a Detox Plan?
This is easy. There are quite a number of set programs available, but you do have to note that each one differs in function. There are detox programs that focus on getting the harmful toxins out of your system. There are also those that pay closer attention to how your internal cleansing organs function, particularly those related to your skin, liver or blood.
Combing detox programs is also good, so you can get faster and better effects. But you have to consult a doctor because you decide to do so, because some detox programs can be rather taxing to take.
The good thing is, after you undergo a detox plan, you will feel more energized and ready to face any task ahead of you. You will wake up better and sleep more soundly. Some even look a whole lot younger after. Of course, a good detox program will not give you its full benefits if you do not combine it with proper exercise and rest. So when planning to get into one, these three are the members of your holy diet trinity.
It is not difficult to stay healthy. You simply need to regularly cleanse your body, exercise often and eat balanced meals. It doesn't take rocket science really. And if you combine your daily good living habits with a detox program every once in a while, you can say hello to a fitter, better you anytime soon.

Detox Your Way to Better Living
Most detox programs start with strict diets, which not just benefit and strengthen our blood circulation, kidneys, liver, bowels and lungs, but our general health in the long run.
Getting Started, Slowly
There are a number of detox plans you can take, but each one differs from the other in terms of how they are designed to cleanse your body. Some detox programs concentrate on flushing out toxins from your bowels, while some focus their attention on your liver, blood or skin.
If you combine these detox plans, you will be able to jumpstart your bodily functions and restore your health to its maximum level. Why, you can even look a whole lot younger after. Of course, you have to combine your detox diet with proper exercise, rest and positive state of mind.
Detox is equivalent to giving your body a break. By staying away from foods that are a challenge to metabolize and taunt your blood sugar levels, you will be able to generate enough energy required to regenerate and cleanse yourself.
Your Liver is Your Best Asset
Even if our bodies already have built-in detox systems, we still need to detox once in a while. The most important organ you should consider when thinking about starting a detox diet is your liver and how it will thank you dearly after.
Our livers rarely complain when we abuse our bodies, but it is actually the most hardworking of all our internal cleansing organs. It produces heart, balances cholesterol levels, makes the bile we need to digest fat, processes proteins, stores vitamins and activates our hormones. Apart from the that, the liver also filters out all the bad elements we put into our bodies by drinking alcohol, smoking or inhaling chemical substances.
While our livers can still function despite a lot of damage, once you've started feeling sluggish, digest poorly, have dull skin and start developing dark eye circles, it's time to reward it for its hard work by undergoing a detox phase.
Seek Help
You can start your detox program by searching for information on the Internet or by asking your doctor for advice. Foods that aid in effective detoxification include those that are limonene-rich like lemons, or slightly bitter veggies like fennel, broccoli or artichokes. Water is also a no-fail beverage. But if you truly want to get the maximum benefits out of your detox plan, seek professional assistance.
It is important to note, however, that people usually experience some form of nausea or headache while undergoing a detox process. This is because of the toxins released. If this happens to you, slow down on the program and start again very gradually. Your body will need to be properly primed and readied for the detox program so it can respond well. You simply can't demand your body to cleanse itself immediately.
Good health is not that difficult to achieve. You just have to keep your body healthy inside and out. Do this through proper exercise, enough rest and a healhty diet. Of course, a good detox program will also work wonders.

Information For Anyone Wanting a Natural Detox
I know that I was seeing more and more detox ads on the television and the internet and it dawned on me that there were so many that it must drive people crazy trying to pick one out to try and complete.
I started looking at these to see if there was any truth to what I was seeing in the ads. Let me say that what I found was true. There were tons of these diets out there, but there seemed to be one thing common to them all. It was drinking high quality water and enough of it each day to keep the body flushing out toxins.
I learned that the human body can detox naturally with the liver. The liver mixes its chemicals with other chemicals inside the liver and makes water soluble compounds that then can be flushed out of the human body. This is why water is so important; it keeps this natural process working every day.
If you are serious about doing a detox, you need to make sure you know how to do it safely and healthily. You also should talk to your doctor about any risks that are involved in the detox plan.
The three important things that I found are medical advice, understand how your body works to detox, and lastly drink plenty of high quality water. The water was the easiest thing that I found to change. There are plenty of systems on the market to get high quality water.
If you are interested in learning more about high quality water and how easy it can be to add to your home then click here. I know that you can spend hours looking at all the different systems and not get any closer to picking a system then when you started.

• Say goodbye one by one to delicious but unfit foods. This includes chips, red meat, white bread, ice cream, and a whole bunch of other goodies. While they give you instant gratification, unhealthy food only increases the number of toxins that are already present in the body. So if your goal is whole body detox then begin by moving the body away from the temptation of harmful food.
• Also say goodbye to burnt food. Sure, you want it well done, but definitely not scalded! Imagine getting those black pigments inside your system. It is like literally eating carbon and feeding the cancer monster in the body to make it grow big. Instead, make marinating a part of your kitchen habit. Include rosemary, garlic, or onion into the marinade to keep your meals healthy.
• Keep it fresh and organic. Yes, you have so much to do and so little time. But eating processed and preserved foods contain harmful substances that are dangerous to the body. Spending quality with your fresh ingredients in the kitchen make a truly sumptuous meal and an effective body detox recipe.
• Allow some fishes in the ocean to stay right where they belong and not on your plate. Surprisingly, some fish species that have been an ordinary part of the diet are actually rich in mercury content. So if you don’t want to get mercury poisoning then avoid swordfish, king mackerel, tuna, and king salmon. Shark should likewise be shunned in water as well as on land.
• Don’t get contented with once a day. Move your bowel at least twice to thrice a day. This way, the toxins don’t get stuck in the colon and make you sick later.
• Stay on water therapy. The most important part of any body detox plan should be composed of drinking large amounts of water than you have been consuming before. It should be clean and purified water though. Otherwise, you will be introducing bacteria that could be present in tap water.
Finally, keep a positive attitude. There is no use devising the perfect plan if you if you don’t believe in yourself that you will see through its completion. Every time you implemented something from your body detox plan, affirm yourself, and confidently move on to the next one.

Coming Up With a Detox Plan
This isn't mere chance, just people who take better care of their bodies than others. Some people drive their bodies to excess when they are young; little sleep, drinking, smoking, stressing.
Others lead healthier lives, they do exercise, they don't smoke, they drink in moderate quantities or not at all, they get enough sleep, and they go under a detox plan once in a while.
You might not notice it in the short run, but bad habits take a toll in our bodies, and sometimes it isn't until we get seriously sick that we try to change your ways. For some, unfortunately, it's too late.
It makes no sense to wait until we get an illness, specially when you have a family that depends on you. That's why changing a lifestyle might be challenging at first, but worth it in the long run.
A detox plan helps our body get cleansed of the toxins it accumulates. These toxins are accumulated both through our excesses as well as by the polluted environment in which we live.
Following a detox plan might be difficult for some, specially if you're used to indulge yourself when it comes to alcohol, smoking, and junk food. But if you have a bit of discipline, the detox plan will show you results that you will be able to notice in a short period of time.
Besides, a detox plan isn't usually a permanent lifestyle, it's just a temporary measure that is taken from time to time to cleanse your body.
One thing you can do to make going through a detox plan in an easier way, is involve your friends and family. They don't need to follow the complete detox plan, but it'll be easier if they join you in at least one part of it, for example, doing exercise together or stopping eating meat.
Another good option for completing your detox plan is to avoid temptation altogether. If you have a hard time not drinking, avoid bars for a while. If you tend to smoke every time you feel nervous, don't buy cigarettes and don't hang out with smokers. And don't buy red meat or heavily spiced food, so you can't even cook it at home.
At the end of the detox plan, you will feel much better, and you will get sick with much less frequency. Moreover, you will be in much less risk of getting a severe disease.

Diet Detox Plans - Taking it to the Limit
As people become convinced of homeopathy's and naturopathy's benefits, however, some of alternative medicine's riskier practices gain favor, too. When Harvard researchers claim "antioxidants are good; eat more tomatoes," ordinary folks ought to pay attention. When militant homeopaths stridently recommend radical cleansing procedures, however, everyday folks have reason for careful scrutiny.
Three homeopathic practices especially warrant further study before they move into the mainstream: Liver flushing, chelation, and colon hydrotherapy may not pass the first Hippocratic litmus test-do no harm.
Liver Flush Neither dangerously invasive nor potentially toxic, experts most commonly object simply that liver cleansing causes a great deal of discomfort for little or no significant health benefit.
The most common liver flushing procedure requires you to drink two glasses of apple juice every two hours for two days. Because apple juice has unusually high concentrations of malic acid, it may break-down calcium and fat globules that contribute to gallstones, helping the body pass them in normal elimination. During the two-day apple juice regime, you eat nothing but fresh fruits and vegetables, getting the benefits of their antioxidants. And, at the end of your two-day juice- and fruit-rich cleansing, you drink an Epsom salts solution with an olive oil and lemon juice chaser. Epsom salt and olive oil supposedly relax and dilate smooth muscles in your digestive system so that it easily can expel larger globules, and lemon juice supposedly stimulates peristalsis to speed the benefits.
Following this old-fashioned liver flush poses no serious health risks, but you may suffer explosive diarrhea, severe abdominal cramps, and violent vomiting, which put you at risk of serious dehydration. The cleansing may deplete your immune system, so that you become more vulnerable to colds and flu.
Chelation Both traditional and alternative medicines define chelation as a systematic biochemical therapy for removing heavy metals from the bloodstream vital organs-especially intestines, the liver, and kidneys-by means of a "chelate" or metal-attracting agent. Healthcare professionals most often recommend the process in cases of mercury and lead poisoning, and in some cases, they have experimented with its use in detoxification from exposure to radiation. According to homeopathic theory, chelation serves as a prime example of how "like cures like," because the metal attracting agent removes heavy metals, neutralizes them, and helps the body eliminate them via urination and defecation.
Naturally, as with most homeopathic practices, debate rages. Traditional physicians most commonly prescribed chelates in liquid or tablet form shortly after World War II, when many shipbuilders and armaments workers showed serious symptoms of lead and other heavy-metal poisoning. Concomitant research showed only slightly greater success with chelates than with placebos, so that most traditional physicians abandoned the practice by the middle of the 1950's.
In recent years, however, as researchers find greater concentrations of heavy-metal and complex chemical contaminants in metropolitan water supplies and processed foods-especially in canned goods-chelation, once again has become relatively common practice among homeopaths. As researchers also become more suspicious about the link between thimerasol and autism, they more frequently recommend chelation as a therapy for developmental disorders.
Colon Hydrotherapy More invasive than a common enema, colon hydrotherapy irrigates the entire gastrointestinal system, triggering expulsion of all the colon's, upper and lower intestines' contents. Most colon hydrotherapists strongly caution against do-it-yourself equipment and kits, because they easily can damage or compromise sensitive tissue and chemical equilibrium in your digestive tract. Working with a properly trained, experienced homeopath or naturopath who adheres to the best practices in colon hydrotherapy, you incur little risk, and you definitely will relieve bloating and blockage. A reputable practitioner may introduce a few herbs and nutrients into the mix for the sake of protecting your system during the cleansing. Although good sense requires you ask lots of questions about the herbs and their reputed benefits, make especially certain they are all-natural and perfectly safe, the most common enhancements will do you some good.
Both traditional and New Age physicians very strongly caution against colon cleansing agents and practitioners who discuss "intestinal plaque," displaying graphic and grotesque pictures of their patients' waste products. Approximately every thirty-six hours, your body fully digests and eliminates metabolic wastes from everything you eat. Several very reputable myth-busting studies have shown the active agent in so-called "plaque removers" is compounded from the same chemical that causes clumping in kitty litter. Yes, everything in your digestive tract will adhere to the "plaque remover," including all the healthy bacteria and some of the protective lining. Even the most strident advocates of healthy colon hydrotherapy sternly caution against working with a practitioner who persists in promoting the myth of intestinal plaque.

5 Day Body Detox Plan - The Three Most Important Things You Should Be Aware Of
When it comes to the 5 day body detox plan, there are three important things you should be aware of - diet, exercise, and water.
1. Diet - Eating the right kind of food is what detoxification is all about. You should eat plenty of raw, organic food. Fruits, vegetables, nuts, fish, brown bread, and fresh yogurt are something you need to eat every day during this 5 day body detox plan. Do not eat any packed fast food. Do not eat anything with added preservatives, fats, or sugar. By eating this kind of diet, you are bound to feel hungry at times. To avoid this, drink some unsweetened fruit juice or unsweetened herbal tea between the meals.
2. Exercise - A little bit of physical exercise during these five days can make a lot of difference to this detox plan. Since you might feel a little weak in the first few days, you need not do any strenuous exercise. Just a brisk walk for about half an hour will do.
3. Water - This is easily the most important part of the 5 day body detox plan. You need to drink plenty of water to flush the toxins out of your system. So, make sure you drink at least five liters of water every day. Always carry a water bottle when you go out and keep yourself hydrated all the time.
Now, one thing I should tell you about this 5 day body detox plan is that you should be very careful about the kind of food you eat and the water you drink during these five days. You should try to eat organic food and drink clean water to get the best results. If you eat what you eat every day, you will end up adding a lot of toxins to your body instead of getting rid of them. Similarly, if you drink tap water, you will end up adding a load of unwanted, harmful substances to your body. To avoid this, you should do two things.
1. Eat only organic food. Look for the USDA label to make sure it is 100% organic.
2. Get a good water filter and drink only clean water.
My suggestion to you would be to get a multi stage active carbon filter, which I think is the best water filter available on the market today. It can get rid of all the unwanted substances present in tap water including cysts, heavy metals, drugs, synthetic chemicals, chlorine, and harmful viruses and bacteria. This way, you get to drink pure water which can help flush the toxins out of your system effectively.
There you have it friends. 5 day body detox plan is a very good way to remove the toxins from your body. If done properly, it can make you feel healthier, younger, and lighter.

5 Day Body Detox Plan - The #1 Cause of Failure For Most People
When following a 5 day body detox plan, most people surprisingly do the more difficult tasks correctly- like avoiding processed, packaged, and fast foods and eating more whole foods like fruits, vegetables, fish, and grains.
But it's the simplest things that end up going wrong.
Most people are aware that an adequate intake of water is critical in any 5 day body detox plan. It's recommended that you drink a half ounce of water for every pound of body weight you have. So since I weigh 200 pounds, I have to drink 100 ounces of water a day, which is about 3 liters.
But when most people go to drink all of this water, they go straight to their tap. And by doing this, they fail to realize that this water most likely contains some degree of contamination. In fact, over 90% of all U.S. water systems contain traces of at least 10 synthetic chemicals and lead.. By consuming these contaminants, you are just making your kidneys and liver work that much harder!
Now some people are aware of tap water contamination and drink bottled water during a 5 day body detox plan. But unfortunately, the quality of bottled water is at best unknown, simple because over 70% of all of it doesn't have to meet government standards. You know why? Because of a loophole that allows manufacturers to avoid following the standards if they both bottle and sell their product in the same state!
If you want to do a 5 day body detox plan correctly, your body NEEDS to consume an adequate amount of PURE and HEALTHY water. It acts as the solvent that releases toxins into the bloodstream, it's the transporter of toxins to the kidneys and liver, and it aids in the removal of toxins out of the body. Drinking water that has even trace amounts of chlorine, lead, and other chemicals will just slow down the whole detoxification process and place more of a burden on your kidneys and liver.
The solution? Get yourself a simple water filtration system for your home. To get the best deal, by one factory-direct from the manufacturer online. This is what my family and I did, and we got a high-quality system for only $100.
With a water filtration system in your home, not only can you effectively complete a 5 day body detox plan, you can also reap all the other health benefits of drinking pure and safe water- like increased nutrient absorption and digestion, improved concentration and focus, better immunity, a clear complexion, less aches and pains, and even increased metabolism and weight loss!

Don't Overlook This When Doing a 5 Day Body Detox Plan
If you have not done a 5 day body detox plan before, you could be denying your body a spot of rest and recuperation that it might need. Have you been burning the candle at both ends, not eating enough of the right kinds of food and over indulging? Add to that being over worked or over stressed and you body is beginning to tell you it's time for a time out.
The whole thing about detoxes are they are no longer the preserve of the rich and famous who we read about so much, as they try to lose their dependence on say, drugs and alcohol. These days anyone who has the goal and an ounce or two of motivation of wanting to feel better, can follow something like a 5 day body detox plan and reap the health benefits for themselves.
Those include such outward signs of improvements as clearer skin, brighter eyes and feeling like you have extra energy, not to mention helping your inner organs and digestive systems recover. Let's face it we often spring clean our homes, so why not do the same for your own body.
Something that is not always apparent to someone doing a detox is how important drinking water is. That's because it's so good at flushing out those toxins that may be stored up inside you. Internal organs like your liver and kidneys rely on good hydration and this improves elimination.
However, this last point is often taken for granted as a good many of us regard our water supplies as being clean and safe. Whilst that's true in general, a lot of the times it's clearly not the case, as water contamination scares are on the increase worldwide.
Remember that good health is a valuable thing and essential if you want to live your life to the full.

Diet Detox Plans - The Secret to Success on a Master Detox Diet
First and foremost, do not simply begin it on your own initiative and without first consulting your regular primary care physician. Although you blame all of your everyday symptoms on toxins and foreign agents in your system, and although you feel perfectly confident a properly rigorous regime of anti-oxidants and other healthy cleansers will restore your health, nevertheless you need a traditional physician's assurance that your symptoms do not indicate a compromised immune system, a serious infection or chemical imbalance.
Before you begin any kind of detox diet program, you must make certain that your major organs can handle the strain of detoxification: a doctor should perform routine heart, liver, and kidney tests, making sure they can manage the stress your detox diet program will place on them. No matter how much you mistrust traditional Western medicine, its tubes and beakers and chemical interventions, you must set aside your skepticism long enough to allow a traditional physician to perform reliable, time-honored tests on your system.
Exercise caution about "throwing out the baby with the bathwater," because the very best, most effective health care combines traditional scientists and homeopaths in inter-disciplinary teams, making the most of their complementary expertise. You, too, should form an inter-disciplinary team to promote your health and well-being.
Second on the list but equally important as the first caution, do not stop taking your regular medications as part of your detoxification program unless you have discussed your plans with the physician who prescribed the medications. If, for example, you have grown suspicious of your anti-depressants, you may have very good reason to discontinue them, but you cannot just peremptorily stop taking them, because you risk fatal seizure, suicidal ideation, and heart problems if you simply stop "cold turkey."
Similarly, if you are on a course of antibiotics which you think exacerbate rather than help your condition, check with your doctor before you stop taking them. The doctor originally prescribed the powerful anti-bacterials to get rid of a virulent infection; if you feel worse instead of better, you may need more potent medication far more urgently than you need detoxification. And, although you may not consider it among your "medications," talk to your physician about your alcohol use.
If your detox diet program includes withdrawal from regular daily consumption of alcohol-in other words, if you have admitted you have a drinking problem and you intend to quit drinking-be aware that alcohol withdrawal also can cause delirium, seizure, and severe depression. The more serious your problems with alcohol or any controlled substance, the more you need to detox under the care and supervision of both a traditional physician and a homeopath.
Third, most vital to your sustained success, make certain that you are genuinely ready to begin. Genuine readiness includes emotional and psychological preparation, especially creating the framework for good and healthy motivation focused on little achievements. But readiness really remains a practical matter: have you prepared your family and friends for your challenge? Have you trained them to play their roles on your support team, and have you explained how they must become more independent in order for you to have ample time and fair opportunity to succeed in your diet and exercise program? Have you advised your friends to encourage you when you need it, discipline you as you require it, and reward you as your progress merits it? Have you managed all the details of your work/life scheme to support your completion of a master detox fast and your transition to a master detox diet?

Detox Plan - Discover an Easy Detox Plan That Costs Pennies a Day
Detoxification of your body relies almost exclusively on the sufficient intake of pure, healthy water. This is the one tool that your body needs in order to remove all the harmful toxins and chemicals that get built up in your body.
When you look at all the different kinds of detox plans available, most of them include a regular intake of water. This is for a good reason- it works!
When there's more water present in the body, it forces your cells to release all the harmful toxins that get stored in them. It then transports these toxins to your kidneys and liver, where they are filtered out and later released from your body. A detox plan that consists of a daily intake of at least 2 liters of pure, healthy water will guarantee that the toxins which enter your body will not stay in there for long.
Now that's an easy detox plan, am I right?
Our society has created and used over 80,000 different synthetic chemicals for all sorts of reasons. Some are found in the food we eat, more are found in the air we breath, and perhaps even more can be found in the water we drink.
The quality of bottled water is also questionable. Did you know that up to 70% of all bottled water is exempt from government regulations simply because they are packaged and sold within the same state? On top of this, up to 40% of all bottled water comes from city tap supplies!
Now looking at these three means of chemical intake- air, food, and water- which one do you think we can control the easiest?
We can ONLY control what's in the water we drink!
If you're constantly consuming water that is contaminated with chemicals, chlorine, and other contaminants, your body will not be able to detoxify itself because your kidneys and liver will be busy filtering out all of these contaminants. That's why a proper detox plan requires the adequate intake of pure and healthy water.
This is as easy as installing a simple filtration unit on your kitchen faucet. My family and I invested in one of these, and it's amazing how much better tap water tastes when it's properly filtered. The unit we have filters out over 99% of all the chlorine, chemicals, lead, and other contaminants found in city tap supplies. Using it, our easy detox plan only costs us about 25 cents a day!

A Detox Plan
Water weight weight loss is extremely disappointing, because you lose the weight so quickly and are very excited about your success, until you gain it back just as quickly!
Some celebrities claim a detox plan will do everything from helping in getting rid of cellulite, banish colds, promote weight loss. You will feel better be more energetic, calmer, your blood pressure and bad cholesterol levels will be lower and you will recover quickly from those other annoying little health problems!
It certainly sounds great.
The idea behind a detox is very much like what happened when Arthur Agatston--MD (a heart specialist) developed a way, through nutrition to correct blood chemistry to improve heart health. A huge (unforeseen) side effect of the program to improve blood chemistry, was weight loss. So Doctor Agatston, convinced by others, put his principles into a book and called it The South Beach Diet.
The problem is, with any detox plan, health experts question, just how healthy detox diets are. This should be of great concern.
Very few people will go through all the training and education to become a medical doctor--strictly for the money. My point is the vast majority of medical experts CARE about you, your health and are not withholding valuable health information from you.
The majority of nutritionists, dietitians and doctors are aware of the programs, devices, and concoctions out there for detoxing, but understand our bodies are capable of getting rid of waste without the aid of any detoxing program and believe any advantage a detoxing regime provides is minimal.
There is no scientific evidence to support the claim our bodies need any help to detoxify. No scientific research can show that detox diets work. Everything is anecdotal--a friend tells a friend, about a web site, a news story, a radio program, a TV infomercial, an opportunity meeting--where a miracle cure is revealed to the great unwashed masses, by a guru who discovered the secret being withheld by the elite!
The only absolutely proven detoxing that exists is--more fiber promotes faster and better elimination--ridding the body of toxins that can effect the colon.
Clean fresh pure water--makes the organs that eliminate waste function better--thus removing more toxins at a faster rate. Clean, fresh, pure water will also reduce the strain on organs that remove toxins from the body.
Our liver, lungs, kidneys and skin were designed to efficiently and effectively remove toxins from our bodies.
Health experts are very critical of strict detox plans, that if followed for a long time, will lead to nutrient deficiencies and cause health problems in later life.
The best detox plan is lots of good, clean, pure water every day. How hard is that?

5 Day Body Detox Plan - Energize Yourself!
At the moment I'm feeling the pinch of the economic slowdown, perhaps working a little too hard and for sure eating to many types of junk foods. A good friend of mine recommended that I try some form of detox plan. How I laughed and told him no way was this for me. My friend though is no mug and got me hook line and sinker by offering me a bet that I could not stay on a detox plan for 5 days. The bet was accepted and off I went online to do a little (or perhaps a lot) of research.
It soon became clear to me that this was not going to be easy! No tea, coffee or beer. No meats or processed foods! Oh my I was starting to doubt myself. After surfing the net for what seemed like an age I did find a site that offered several detox plans and the info was available without any charge which was great.
Now let me tell you detox plans vastly vary from some that only allow you to take fluids to others that do allow you to eat. The 5 Day Body Detox Plan I found did allow me to eat although only fruit. My doctor gave me the all clear so detox began! The great thing about this diet plan was that I could eat as much fruit I wanted so I was never hungry. I have to be honest and say I did miss my coffee and my daily pint of beer and the first 48 hours I did struggle but I did stick to it. After 48 hours I stopped feeling light headed and even started to enjoy my daily walks which were part of the plan.
After the 5 days I could really feel a difference in me and to some degree did feel a sense of being cleansed but I also felt energized. The plan has made me realize that I can cut down on my coffee and alcohol intake and I can get by without all the junk food I have been consuming for the last 20 or so years. Yes I won the bet but better still I'm hoping this experience will change my thinking towards my diet for many years to come.
My message to you is give a detox plan a go. There are many available so pick one that you think is right for you. It worked for me so it should work for anybody!

Again your vegetables, as long as they are not processed or contained in a salt solution, should be consumed frequently and are great for keeping up your metabolism and strengthening your immunity to everyday infections and are great for ridding the body of unwanted toxins and heavy metals.
Beans and other pulses are also invaluable to the diet, fantastic for the heart, and are also quite filling as well, so it's unlikely you'll feel the hunger if you stick with pulses.
